In August 2024, the Network of Women with Disabilities (NWD) implemented a tree, fruit, and vegetable planting initiative on our farmland in Uke, Nasarawa State.
The activity aimed to promote environmental sustainability, improve food security, and create long-term livelihood opportunities for women with disabilities. Through this effort, we planted a variety of trees alongside fruits and vegetables that will contribute to both ecological balance and nutritional support for the community.
This initiative reflects NWD’s commitment to integrating climate action with economic empowerment, ensuring that women with disabilities are not left behind in conversations and actions around sustainable development.
